Good Friday lies at the heart of the passion and death of Jesus.
He gave everything, to the point of experiencing the most profound solitude which led him to cry out: “my God, why have you forsaken me?”
Yet, he entrusted Himself to the Father, transforming suffering into love.
There is no place His infinite love cannot reach, not even death and forsakenness.
Recently, I’ve felt overwhelmed by so much shocking news on COVID-19. But then when I remember that Jesus on the cross has taken on himself this suffering too, I am certain that He is close to those who are suffering and that this period will be followed by a resurrection.
