An explosion of joy

Gen Verde reaches over 100K views in 4 days

“You have no idea how happy you are making so many people with these videos… you are like a ray of God’s Love that warms the heart by announcing the Resurrection, worthy followers of those women who were the first ones to see the Risen Lord.” “During this Triduum marked by so much suffering and death, your songs are an explosion of hope that transforms hearts.” “Beautiful, really beautiful! Your faces speak of Resurrection too. Thank you.”

These are just a few of the many messages that reached Gen Verde at the end of the Easter Triduum, in which they tried to be close to people, especially those who are suffering most, through their music.

“On the night of the Easter vigil – Mileni from Brazil explains – we wanted to be the first ones to announce the joy of the Risen one just like the women who went out to the tomb and found it empty. At midnight we uploaded the video with our Easter wishes on our social media and on YouTube, and from that moment on our chats have been literally bombarded. We had almost 30 thousand views in 24 hours without counting all the videos uploaded earlier, websites that shared our messages, and articles published. It was really an explosion of life.”

It was a challenging job not only because Gen Verde sang in different languages, but also due to the work of video editing with subtitles so that everyone could catch the meaning of the experience we were trying to convey. “We worked a lot – says Maricel from Spain who does video editing – but we always have the same experience: when the first comments arrive and we see that people are happy about it, we go beyond our tiredness and find more strength to work harder and better. This time we were particularly happy to have managed communicate through imagery that reflects today’s situation of COVID-19 in the video of “Servire è regnare”.

The most moving feedback has come from those who are ill: “It is captivating – writes a Covid-19 patient on the way to recovery – like a mantra, the melody makes space inside, it is a song of joy which is difficult to resist. Thank you, it is a beautiful gift.” And someone who got to know Gen Verde through the workshops in his city: “such a great video!!! All the faces are really an expression of the Risen Lord!!! Thanks to all of you! Listening to you made me forget the situation for a moment and smile. I remember that short time we shared together, in which you shared something that will remain with us always: the importance of getting to know others without judging or setting limits, with openness and empathy. If we put these things into practice we will feel a great warmth in our hearts. I’ve kept and will continue to keep each of your words and actions in my heart as a treasure. Thank you again for everything and I wish you a happy Easter.”

Gen Verde continues to surprise us and spread the joy with their songs and music, lifting up these particularly difficult times on an international level and… they’re already thinking of new projects: “we are working – explains Alessandra – on the next live stream which will be on April 17th, and naturally, there will be many nice surprises. See you on our YouTube channel.
